Meet the Editors > Sean Hyman

sean_hyman_10What do you do in your free time? Much of my free time in Dallas is centered on my family and church. I spend quite a bit of time with my wife, Lisa and with my four kids: Brittany, Seth, Shane and Zachary. Each week, Lisa and I go out on date nights and each weekend we fun events with our kids or go back to Arkansas to see some of our other relatives.

I really have a passion for motorcycles and old antique muscle cars (especially from the 1960s). My love for muscle cars started by going for rides in my uncle’s 1967 GTO. From that point on, I was hooked. When I was a teenager, I bought a 1965 Chevelle and really enjoyed cruising around town in it for several years.

More recently, I bought a 1969 Corvette Stingray convertible that I’m really enjoying. This summer, I may start putting it in some local car shows.

My other interests are most anything electronic. I love my laptop, wireless card, Iphone, etc. Portable computing power makes my life as a writer much easier and much more mobile. It enables me to write from anywhere in the world and not be strapped down to an office. After all, I love to go to most any tropical environment. I love warm weather, the ocean and palm trees.

If you weren’t in your current profession, what else would you do? I’d buy and restore old cars. I still hope to do this on the side one day. I’d like to own and restore a 1932 Ford 3 Window Coupe and paint it up like the ZZ Top Eliminator car. I’d also like to have an early model Corvette that had the tear drop shape in the doors (late 50’s early 60’s).

What would be the advice you’d give a newcomer to the forex market? I’d say that they need to start out with a well-capitalized account (no matter what they advertise you can start with). You need to “trade light”. Start off by trading 1 mini or micro lot but no more.

Get an education and find a mentor before you start trading live. I believe traders can find both of these between our free and subscription based newsletters here at the Sovereign Society. We’re all about “informing you and empowering you” to take charge of your own finances since the government or anyone else won’t be looking out for you.

What’s in store for 2010? Inflation…and lots of it! Now it’s more important than ever to know what to do with your finances. Many people will just have their paychecks “gobbled up” by inflation this year and their stocks will either dive or grow much slower than normal and they won’t know what to do about it. Not so with our subscribers. They are some of the most well informed investors and traders out there.

The stagflation (low growth/high inflation) environment that’s coming in 2010 will be tough on stocks and will gyrate the dollar all over creation. That’s why it’s much better to focus on trading the currency crosses (that don’t even have to deal with the ailing dollar) in 2010. In the Currency Cross Trader I will show them exactly how to make gains in the currency market which will help to buffer the downside that they see in their stock portfolios this year.
